The Software Systems Research Group (SSRG) has interests in tool and method support for database modelling in heterogeneous environments. It has research experience in the areas of active technologies, method development and tools to support the maintenance of rich, interrelated data models. One aim of the group is theory development informed by current practice in the management of data, with the goal of improving such practice. Empirical studies are therefore an important element of much of the work undertaken, making method support for such studies a key area of concern. The group also aims to conduct fundamental research into tool support for managing data.
The group’s activities fall broadly into two themes, the first related to tool support and the second to method support for empirical studies related to current practice.
